TYVM
✳ About

A kinder corner of the internet.

TYVM is a simple, friendly page for anything you make or do, and a way for people to say thank you. It’s built so that young people can use it safely too, which quietly shapes every choice we make.

✳ What we believe

A few things we won’t trade away.

You’re not the product

No ads, no tracking, nothing about you for sale. You’re the point, not the inventory.

Gratitude over transactions

Support is a thank-you, not a checkout. A page with nothing for sale is still a great page.

Safe by design

Safety isn’t a setting you hunt for. It’s built into how the whole thing works.

Honest, even when it’s awkward

We’ll publish the bill, we say what isn’t decided, and we won’t oversell what a feature does.

✳ Why it exists

It started from a simple want.

A place where a kid selling friendship bracelets, or a dog walker, or an artist, or anyone at all, could share their work and be thanked for it. Without being tracked, upsold, or quietly skimmed from.

Most of the web wants to turn that moment into data. We wanted to leave it alone, and just be the friendly link in the middle. That’s the whole product, and it’s why the hardest decisions here are the ones about what not to build.

✳ Who we are

A small company, and its founder.

TYVM is a small for-profit company. Todd Belcher, founder.

Right now TYVM is funded by its founder. The plan is to be funded by the people who use it. Nobody buys a say: not an underwriter, not an investor, not the biggest supporter.

✳ How we use AI

Where AI comes in, and where it doesn’t.

AI is part of how TYVM can exist and stay safe. Here’s exactly where, in plain words, because you deserve to know.

To keep people safe

It helps us catch problems

AI helps spot problems in words and pictures. Anything it hides goes to a person, and nothing it does is permanent.

A promise

We don’t train AI on your page

TYVM does not use what’s on your page to train AI.

A default we’re proud of

AI crawlers are asked to stay away

On a young person’s page, AI crawlers are asked to stay away by default. If it’s switched on, their grown-up is told. It’s a request that well-behaved crawlers follow, not a fence, and we’d rather say so.

Bring your own

Use TYVM from your own AI

Connect the assistant you already use, and with your yes it can help build your page. Ready when the app opens on November 1. It gets the same rules as you: it acts only where you allowed it, going live is still your button, and it can’t open a gate a grown-up closed. Every assistant gets the same rules, and none gets a better seat.

What it costs

It costs money, so we set limits

Checking content with AI isn’t free, so we set limits, and never on checking a young person’s page. We will publish what it costs us. What TYVM costs to run →

The unusual one

AI helps build TYVM too

A lot of our code is written by AI, with people directing and reviewing it. It’s unusual, and we’d rather tell you than not.

✳✳✳

Why “TYVM”?

It’s short for “thank you very much.” The three stars are our little mark: gratitude, a bit of sparkle, and deliberately not a rating. It’s not three out of five. It just means you’re great.

✳ Everything, in one place

The full FAQ.

The questions about TYVM itself are here. Every page carries its own, too, and they are all listed below.

What is TYVM?

Who is TYVM for?
Everyone 13 and up: makers, artists, musicians, babysitters, dog walkers, tutors, and the grown-ups around them.

How is TYVM funded?
Right now TYVM is funded by its founder. The plan is small, optional support from the people who use it, plus businesses underwriting one plain line of text in TYVM’s footers, never ads and never a cut of anyone’s support. Nobody buys a say: not an underwriter, not an investor, not the biggest supporter.
Is TYVM a nonprofit?
No, TYVM is a small for-profit company. It takes no cut, sells no data, runs no ads, and will publish what it costs to run, line by line. Supporting TYVM is support, not a tax-deductible donation. What TYVM costs to run →
How does TYVM use AI?
AI helps TYVM spot problems, and anything it hides goes to a person. TYVM does not use page content to train AI, asks AI crawlers to stay away from a young person’s page by default, and lets you connect your own assistant with your yes, under the same rules for every assistant. Much of TYVM’s code is written by AI with people directing it. The full statement →
Does TYVM sell my data?
No. TYVM doesn’t track or profile people, runs no ads, and has nothing about you for sale.
